UW EarthLab is holding its 2019 Doug Walker Lecture on Oct. 30 with author, poet and professor J. Drew Lanham, Ph.D.

Dr. Lanham will present “Why I Write for the Birds – The Convergence of Art, Science and Culture in Making Conservation More Inclusive” at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at Benaroya Hall, 200 University Street in Seattle. In his lecture, he will examine how conservation must be a rigorous science and evocative art, inviting diversity and race to play active roles in celebrating our natural world.
