The University of Washington Women’s Center is offers a comprehensive introduction class to the GRE. The class provides an overview of the exam, covering its overall structure, the types of questions that students will encounter, the testing environment, and available tools. A substantial portion of the course is dedicated to providing students with means for maximizing their GRE scores; heavy focus is given to the academic content of the exam, methods for studying efficiently, and techniques that help to increase scores by taking advantage of the GREs design. Each of the various techniques is explained and reinforced by use in example.

For the GRE prep classes: We recommend purchasing the Princeton Review Cracking the GRE 2019 textbook to aid your GRE test prep. The book includes 4 practice tests and we strongly encourage you to take a practice exam prior to your first class.
Additional Materials: calculator (simple four function is fine, you don’t need anything fancy, the one on your phone will work!), pen/pencil, scratch paper to make notes and work out problems.
