I am a second-year graduate student, but I have been part of the SEFS community for six years. I graduated in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, and I am continuing my passion for restoration ecology by pursuing a master of science degree. My thesis is, “The Microbiome of Puget Prairie Plants.” I am characterizing the bacterial community living within prairie plants, which hasn’t been investigated using metagenomic technology before. I also serve as the president of the Society for Ecological Restoration, as well as the Union Bay Natural Area RA. Feel free to reach out to me with questions about my research, the Society of Ecological Restoration or the Union Bay Natural Area.
