Please join us next Wednesday (4:30PM PST) for the start of our Conversations in Environmental Communication Seminar Series. Open to the public. The series explores environmental communication through the perspective of a diverse group of professionals working in the arts, journalism, social media, advocacy, business, and science. We’ll investigate how messages about nature and the environment permeate our public discourse through insightful presentations and riveting Q&A with leading experts.

FEARLESS DISPATCHES FROM THE ANTHROPOCENE

Our first speaker is Lynda Mapes, award-winning author and Seattle Times environmental reporter. She will focus her presentation on her work reporting about the plight of resident orca populations in our region, including the award-winning Hostile Waters series. Lynda will share her experience covering breaking news on the orcas, the rich multimedia reporting of the in-depth series, and her upcoming book on the same topic.

LIVE AND RECORDED

You can catch this seminar and the rest of the series LIVE and recorded on the Program on the Environment’s YouTube Channel.
