Applications for International Studies (General) Due January 24

Hello Students and Happy New Year!
For those of you interested in applying for our International Studies (General) major, we want to send along this reminder about the application deadline.
Applications for the International Studies general major are due on
Friday, January 24th before 4pm
Please drop off your applications in Thomson Hall Room 111
(Your applications can be placed in the box labeled, “International Studies Major Applications”)

Recruitment for FYP Student Leadership Positions – Applications Open until January 19th

First Year Programs is currently recruiting for our First-year Interest Group (FIG) Leader and Orientation Leader (OL) student positions!
The FIG program is looking for students from all departments who are UW-Seattle undergraduates with strong organizational skills and a genuine interest in working with incoming students as they face the challenges and opportunities presented to them as new students.

Need A Winter Class? Space Available in Pol S 302, 307, 361 and More

Dear UW Students,
The Political Science Department has added space to three winter courses (scroll down for details):

  Pol S 302: Free Will, Nature and Nurture in Politics in Society
  Pol S/Relig 307: Religion and World Politics
  Pol S/LSJ 361, United States Courts and Civil Liberty

There is also limited space in other Pol S courses, including the introductory courses (Pol S 201, 202, 203, 204).

Mary Gates Scholarships – Applications Now Accepted!

The Mary Gates Endowment for Students is currently accepting scholarship applications.  Mary Gates scholarships provide $5,000 ($2,500 per quarter for two quarters) for students to pursue leadership or research activities.  These scholarships benefit students in the current academic year, and are open to all UW undergraduate students, including all class years, all majors, and all residency statuses (US citizens, permanent residents, international students, and undocumented students are all eligible).
