Project Description:
• Identification of plants from pollen collected by native bees in the Seattle urban area as part of a
PhD project using Next-Generation Sequencing
• Tasks include DNA extraction, PCR amplification,primer addition, library preparation (indexing), Next-Generation Sequencing prep, DNA quantification – training will be provided
Requirements:
• Relevant coursework in gene-cs, DNA, lab work in sequencing or lab setting highly encouraged
• Preference will be given to students with previous molecular lab related analysis experience
Schedule and Time Commitment:
• Work is lab-based, weekly schedule can be negotiated; work is ongoing, and may be opportunities for summer 2020
