ESRM Major Requirements

L. Monika Moskal
The Environmental Science and Resource Management Major (ESRM) is an open major, which means students currently registered at UW can declare this major at any time as long as they have a 2.0 cumulative grade point average. It is also transfer-friendly, allows for over 50 free electives and can easily be combined with minors and double degrees.
Students can choose from four options within the ESRM major to focus on:
- Natural Resource Environmental Management*
- Restoration Ecology and Environmental Horticulture
- Sustainable Forest Management*
- Wildlife Conservation
*The NREM and SFM options are both accredited by the Society of American Foresters through 2027.
The ESRM 2020 to 2021 Course Schedule, the ESRM Course Checklist and a number of other important documents relevant to students in the program can be found on the ESRM Courses page.
