Since 2016, the UW School of Environmental and Forest Sciences has partnered with the Kalispel Tribe of Indians on a number of research projects that the Tribe has also funded.

Research Activities with the Kalispel Tribe

Kalispel Natural Resources Department – Fisheries is a 2020 video created by the Kalispel Tribe to demonstrate how their heritage and culture, combined with a modern understanding and technology, helped form their philosophy for managing and conserving natural resources. SEFS Affiliate Assistant Professor Christopher Torgersen is involved in much of the conservation activities depicted in the video and has worked closely with the Kalispel Tribe since 2016.
