A recent School of Environmental and Forest Sciences graduate is taking over as operations manager at the Center for Sustainable Forestry at Pack Forest.

Stacey Dixon received her master of forest resources (MFR) forest management degree in June 2019 and will begin her new job on Aug. 19.

“As the Pack Forest Manager and Ecologist, I’m eager to continue the integration of creative research into forest management,” Dixon said. “In this role, I hope to strengthen connections between UW and Pack Forest and increase opportunities for educational engagement. It’s a dream to get to work with such great people at an amazing research center that impactfully demonstrates the viability and significance of sustainable forest management.”

Dixon has a history of forest management. She managed a 1,100-acre open space area in northern California, and she has been the research assistant for the School of Environmental and Forest Sciences’ carbon-related work.
