Congratulations to Hemalatha Velappan, a M.S. student at SEFS, who won first prize for her poster presentation at the American Center for Life Cycle Assessment (ACLCA).

The presentation was Velappan’s first poster presentation at an international conference, and receiving the top award at such a high level is truly noteworthy. Her poster was about the Comparative Life Cycle Assessment of Export Oriented Torrefied Pellets Industry in the the U.S. Pacific Northwest.

The ACLCA is the largest group of U.S. and Canadian life cycle assessment researchers from a wide array of fields like material science, engineering and wood products. This year’s conference was held virtually from Madison, Wisconsin.
