Mt. Rainier Institute at Pack Forest featured on KIMA
The Mt. Rainier Institute at Pack Forest recently hosted a group of students from Yakima and TV station KIMA did a short story on the visit.
The students received an in-depth look at the the natural and cultural resources of Mount Rainier National Park and Pack Forest during their visit.
Graduate student Maria Blancas receives 2019 Bullitt Environmental Prize
Maria Blancas, a School of Environmental and Forest Sciences Ph.D. student and staff member of the UW Department of Environmental & Occupational Health Sciences, is the recipient of the 2019 Bullitt Environmental Prize for her work with immigrant farmworkers in Washington.

School of Environmental and Forest Sciences assistant professor Indroneil Ganguly proved this when he recently received nearly $500,000 from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to study maple syrup production from big leaf maple trees in the Riparian Zones of Washington’s forests.
