Radcliffe is studying forest ecology and ecological forestry in the Harvey Lab at the University of Washington. He’s worked in many aspects of forestry and forest ecology, including forest management, policy, journalism, and science. He’s broadly interested in tradeoffs and synergies between biodiversity and economic needs in forested regions. For his PhD he is studying multiple aspects of fuels reduction treatments like thinning, prescribed burning, and wildfires, including long term fuels dynamics, stand structural heterogeneity, and bird responses.
