    Research areas

Vaibhav is a PhD student at the School of Environmental and Forest Sciences, studying the social dynamics of groundwater management with an interdisciplinary approach. His research interest lies in exploring water security in the rural Himalayan region, focusing on springs, and understanding the impacts of infrastructural solutions on human-water relationships and resource sustainability.

Previously he has worked at ACWADAM, a not-for-profit knowledge institution focused on addressing India’s groundwater issues. While his educational background is in the natural sciences, his field experience across India has fostered a strong interest in social scientific theories. He is interested in participatory research methods and enjoys conducting interviews and surveys. Outside of research, Vaibhav enjoys yoga and hiking, and is learning bouldering and ultimate frisbee.
