Research

I am a Ph.D. student with the Olympic Natural Resources Center with research focused on ethnoforestry that uses local knowledge to inform and enhance forest management to achieve ecosystem wellbeing in rural communities on the Olympic Peninsula. I study how understory plant species installed into recently harvested areas can provide plant material to local communities, habitat for wildlife, and enhance forest structure.

Research interests: forest ecology, adaptive management, ecosystem wellbeing
