Research

My graduate work in the Harvey Lab explores effects of disturbances (e.g., fire, insect outbreaks) on forests in the Pacific Northwest and US Rocky Mountains, leveraging field studies, permanent plot networks, and landscape modeling to improve our ability to maintain resilient forest structure and function in a changing climate. My current research focuses on forest carbon trajectories and reburn potential following wildfire in western Cascadia within the context of climate change and forest management.

Research interests: disturbance ecology, fire ecology, climate resilience, forest ecology, actionable science
