Research
I am a Ph.D. student working in the Plant Ecophysiology and Modeling Lab (PEML). I have my bachelor’s in Crop Science (Agriculture) and master’s in Agronomy. My research interests are physiology and modeling of leaf gas exchange, nitrogen nutrition and root system architecture in plants. Currently, I am investigating the impacts of diazotrophic endophytes on photosynthesis, respiration, root architecture, and biomass production of Poplars in different nitrogen levels. In general, my aim is to explore the potential of reducing the chemical fertilizer use in the sustainable production of bioenergy crops by leveraging the nitrogen-fixing capabilities of endophytes, all the while prioritizing the plants’ optimal physiological performance.
