- Graduate Student, Ph.D.
Research areas
Research
Shubroto’s research interests are physiology and modeling of leaf gas exchange, nitrogen nutrition and root system architecture in plants. He is currently investigating the impacts of diazotrophic endophytes on photosynthetic capacity, leaf and root respiration, root architecture, and biomass production of Poplars in different nitrogen supply. In general, Shubroto’s aim is to explore the potential of reducing the chemical fertilizers use in the sustainable production of bioenergy crops by leveraging the nitrogen-fixing capabilities of endophytes, all the while prioritizing the plants’ optimal physiological performance.
