Funding Course Fees – ESRM 459
How to Fund Your Course Fees for ESRM 459: Wildlife Conservation in Northwest Ecosystems
ESRM 459 is a wonderful opportunity for ESRM students to gain experience doing fieldwork out of state. Currently the research location is Yellowstone National Park. Students travel over Spring Break to Yellowstone, and then spend Spring Quarter processing the data gathered.
The course fee for this course is currently (October 2026) around $900, and many students are concerned about this cost. Here are some of the funding options available to you:
- Students can apply for up to $300 to apply to the course fee via the SEFS Student Field Experience Support Fund. Be sure to apply by the necessary deadline.
- Students with a FAFSA or WAFSA on file may complete a Revision Request application to increase your existing financial aid package to cover this course fee as an additional educational expense. For additional details and links to the application, see the “Increase Aid to Cover Additional Expenses” section of the UW Financial Aid web site.
