    Research areas

Marcela has a broad interest in understanding how human activities directly and indirectly impact wildlife. Her current research focuses on the effects of recreation in Washington’s wildland-urban interface parks, using non-invasive field methods to examine how animals respond spatially and temporally to human presence. She also employs social science approaches to investigate the science-practice gap in wildlife and recreation management from land managers’ perspectives.
