Arun Agrawal to present “Cash transfer programs and climate resilience” at Oct. 14 SEFS Seminar

On Oct. 14, SEFS will welcome Arun Agrawal, Professor at the School for Environment and Sustainability at the University of Michigan, as the SEFS Seminar speaker.
Agrawal will present “Cash transfer programs and climate resilience.” Here is the abstract for his presentation:
“This review focuses on the relationship between cash transfer-based social assistance programs and the climate resilience of households and communities.

SEFS researcher’s work on soil featured in The Washington Post

Ryan Batjiaka has been spending a lot of time with cucumbers, radishes and petunias. At least the soil the plants are housed in.
The work done by Batjiaka, a soil researcher working with SEFS research professor Sally Brown, was featured in a story in The Washington Post about how scientists can recycle sewer waste into garden soil.
